Paytm stock bounces back 480% from lows but still trails IPO price
Paytm's stock has recovered over 480% from its lifetime low, signalling renewed investor confidence in the fintech firm. However, the shares still trade 20% below the Rs 2,150 per share IPO price set five years ago.
The company's prospects have improved with the introduction of merchant discount rate (MDR) on certain high-value UPI transactions, which could generate fresh revenue. Paytm is also exploring merchant lending, operating leverage gains and artificial intelligence initiatives as potential growth drivers.
