PepsiCo opens new Assam plant, targets India as top 10 global market

PepsiCo has commissioned a new foods manufacturing plant in Nalbari district, Assam, as part of its strategy to position India as one of its top 10 global anchor markets. The facility spans 44.2 acres and will work with 80,000 smallholder farmers through agri-entrepreneurs, strengthening the company's agricultural supply chain in the region.
The expansion reflects PepsiCo's commitment to scaling operations in India and integrating local farming communities into its production ecosystem. The Assam unit is expected to boost the company's food processing capacity while supporting rural livelihoods across the state.
