Perundurai bypoll: EVM checks underway

Election authorities have started first-level checks of electronic voting machines for the upcoming Perundurai bypoll in Tamil Nadu. The bypoll was triggered after AIADMK legislator S. Jayakumar resigned his seat and joined the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) party, just two weeks after being elected to the assembly.
