Power demand surges 70% in Warangal region as farmers face supply interruptions

Power demand in the erstwhile Warangal region has increased by 70 percent, straining the electricity supply system. Farmers in the area have reported frequent interruptions in power supply, affecting agricultural operations.

To address the situation, awareness programmes on rooftop solar installations and the PM Surya Ghar scheme were conducted across all circles from October 1 to 3 as part of the 'Seva Setu' programme. The initiatives aim to promote renewable energy adoption and reduce dependence on grid power.
