Pune family of lawyers turns wastepaper into Ganesh idols

A family of lawyers in Pune has taken up an unusual creative pursuit: crafting Ganesh idols from wastepaper. The project spans several months and combines traditional idol-making with sustainable practices by repurposing discarded paper.
The initiative reflects growing interest among professional families in pursuing environmentally conscious activities alongside their primary occupations. The paper-based idols serve as an alternative to conventional clay and plaster versions, reducing waste while maintaining the religious and cultural significance of the Ganesh festival tradition.
