Rajasthan: Sarpanch reservation lottery completed in 14,403 gram panchayats

The reservation lottery process for 14,403 gram panchayat sarpanch posts and over 1.30 lakh ward panch posts in Rajasthan has been completed. In four tribal-dominated districts, all sarpanch posts have been reserved for the Scheduled Tribe (ST) category.

In Barmer district, the entire lottery process was conducted again due to objections. The process, run by the State Election Commission, has reserved the largest number of posts for women.
