Rajasthan High Court Allows Minor Rape Survivor to Terminate 25-Week Pregnancy

The Rajasthan High Court has permitted a minor girl who became pregnant through rape to terminate her 25-week pregnancy. Justice Bipin Gupta's bench directed the medical board to provide all necessary medical facilities for the procedure. The state government will bear responsibility for the child's care if born during this period.
The court ruled that forcing a minor to carry an unwanted pregnancy violates her fundamental rights, dignity, and well-being. The medical board confirmed that continuing the pregnancy posed risks to the victim's mental and physical health. The minor had refused to continue the pregnancy, and her mother stated the girl had not recovered from the trauma of rape.
