Rajasthan farmers forced to sell moong below MSP as government delays purchase decision

Moong arrivals in Rajasthan have surged tenfold, but farmers are being forced to sell at prices significantly below the minimum support price (MSP). Farmers are realising ₹7,452 per quintal against the government-set MSP of ₹8,780, translating to a loss of around 15%.
The sharp decline in realisation prices comes as the government has yet to decide on formal MSP purchases. Without official procurement channels operational, farmers have no choice but to offload their produce in the open market at depressed rates, undermining the protections that the MSP framework is designed to provide.
