RajKummar Rao 'lived my character,' says Ujjwal Nikam on Prahaar film

Special public prosecutor and Rajya Sabha member Ujjwal Nikam has lauded RajKummar Rao's performance in the film Prahaar: The Untold Story of Ujjwal Nikam. Nikam said Rao prepared for the role by studying videos of his court appearances and public interactions, understanding his mannerisms and courtroom expressions without attending actual proceedings. He also praised director Avinash Arun's work.
Nikam said filmmakers Maddock Films approached him with a specific vision — to focus on the trial proceedings of the 26/11 terror attack rather than create a conventional film. He cautioned them against adding "filmy masala" to an advocate's life story and asked them not to glorify any character.
A key aspect of the film, Nikam noted, is its portrayal of the decision to conduct a full trial of Ajmal Kasab despite his capture alive, highlighting the importance of following due process.
