New trade agreements can cushion impact of stalled US deal, says RBI chief

The Reserve Bank of India chief has cautioned that India's failure to finalise a trade deal with the United States could have adverse effects on the economy. However, the RBI Governor suggested that entering into new free trade agreements with other nations could help mitigate the impact of US tariffs.
The remarks come as India and the US remain at odds over trade negotiations. The RBI chief's comments indicate that New Delhi may need to diversify its trade partnerships to reduce exposure to potential American tariffs and cushion economic headwinds.
