RoDTEP scheme likely to be extended as September 30 deadline approaches

The government is considering an extension of the Remission of Duties and Taxes on Exported Products (RoDTEP) scheme as the September 30 deadline approaches. The scheme provides refunds for various embedded taxes on exported goods, helping reduce costs for Indian products in international markets.
The commerce ministry is coordinating with the finance ministry on the extension proposal. Introduced in 2021, the RoDTEP scheme offers varying refund rates ranging from 0.3% to 3.9% depending on the product category, aimed at making Indian exports more competitive globally.
