Rohan Bopanna excluded from AITA's SOM roster due to retirement timeline rule

Tennis veteran Rohan Bopanna has been excluded from the All India Tennis Association's (AITA) State of the Match (SOM) roster. The exclusion stems from AITA regulations that require athletes to have been retired from active competition for a minimum of one year before they become eligible for inclusion on the SOM roster.
Bopanna, who has represented India across multiple international tournaments, did not meet this eligibility criterion at the time of the selection process. The rule is designed to ensure that only those who have conclusively stepped away from professional play for a sustained period can transition to roles within the AITA's roster.
