This Is Far From Over: Ronaldo Urges Portugal to Stay Positive After World Cup Draw

Portugal's captain Cristiano Ronaldo struck an optimistic note following his team's 1-1 draw with DR Congo in their opening FIFA World Cup 2026 match. Despite the disappointing result in a game Portugal were favoured to win, the 41-year-old urged teammates and supporters to remain focused on upcoming fixtures.

Ronaldo posted on X: "It wasn't the start we wanted, but this is far from over. Head up and focus on the next game." The draw leaves Roberto Martinez's side with unfinished business in Group K as they seek to progress to the knockout rounds. Ronaldo's message emphasised composure during major tournaments, a principle he has long advocated.
