Rybakina advances to US Open final, secures World No. 1 ranking

Elena Rybakina has secured the World No. 1 ranking after defeating Coco Gauff in the US Open semi-final at Flushing Meadows. The victory ensures Rybakina will overtake Iga Sabalenka atop the global rankings, regardless of the final outcome.

Rybakina will now face Sabalenka in the championship match as she pursues her third Grand Slam title. Despite clinching the top ranking, Rybakina must still contend with the Belarusian player on court to secure the US Open crown.
