Sagar Collector Asked to Find Land for New Airport Project

The Madhya Pradesh aviation department has directed the Sagar collector to identify suitable land for an airport project after determining that expanding the existing Dhana airstrip is not viable. The airstrip cannot be expanded on either side due to surrounding hilly terrain, according to officials.
The department is now focusing on locating an airport between Sagar and Bina, with approximately 200 acres needed for the project. Bina is emerging as a major integrated refinery and petrochemical hub, expected to generate significant business activity in the region. The Airports Authority of India will be informed once suitable land is identified.
Separately, the Shivpuri administration has identified a second land option for a proposed Shivpuri airport after the original site proved unsuitable due to its proximity to Madhav National Park. The aviation department will conduct surveys to assess land availability against project requirements.
