Supreme Court stays High Court order quashing NSA against DU graduate in Noida protest case

The Supreme Court has stayed a High Court order that had quashed the National Security Act (NSA) imposed against Akriti Chaudhary, a Delhi University graduate arrested in connection with a workers' wage hike protest in Noida on 13 April. The High Court had earlier quashed the NSA and penalised the District Magistrate for the action.
The Uttar Pradesh government defended IAS officer Medha Roopam's role in invoking the NSA against Chaudhary, who was accused of instigating violence during the protest. The Supreme Court's stay effectively restores the NSA order while the legal proceedings continue.
