India's Asian Games 2026 Contingent Showcases Gujarati-Style Attire at Nagoya Opening

The 20th Asian Games opened in Nagoya, Japan, on September 19, with India's contingent making a striking appearance at the opening ceremony. Two-time Olympic medallist Manu Bhaker and kabaddi star Pawan Sehrawat carried the Indian flag during the athletes' parade at Paloma Mizuho Stadium.
India's 500 athletes wore coordinated navy-blue ensembles blending contemporary style with traditional Indian elements. Female athletes dressed in navy-blue sarees featuring Gujarati-style pallu drapes, while male athletes wore navy-blue bandhgalas, creating a polished and unified look as they represented the nation on the international stage.
