Sensex falls over 460 points as crude, rupee weigh on market

Indian equity markets fell sharply as rising crude oil prices, a weakening rupee and uncertainty in global markets weighed on investor sentiment.
The benchmark Sensex lost more than 460 points, while the Nifty declined 124 points during the session.
Companies listed on the BSE collectively lost Rs 3 lakh crore in market value as selling pressure spread across sectors.
Market participants will now watch crude price movements, currency trends and global cues to gauge the direction of trade in the coming session.
