Sensex and Nifty decline following RBI repo rate increase

Indian stock markets opened lower on Tuesday following the Reserve Bank of India's decision to raise the repo rate.
The BSE Sensex declined 176.54 points, or 0.24%, to close at 72,462.16. The broader NSE Nifty 50 index shed 61.05 points, representing a 0.27% fall, and traded at 22,542.00.
The selloff reflects investor reaction to the RBI's monetary policy tightening, which typically increases borrowing costs across the economy.
