Shriya Saran Opens Up About Her Spa That Employed Blind Therapists

Actress Shriya Saran, who stars in the upcoming film Drishyam: The Conclusion, spoke about her 2011 spa venture in Lokhandwala, which employed visually impaired therapists and masseurs. The spa, named Shree Spa, has since closed due to the pandemic.
Saran explained that the idea stemmed from her time spent at a blind school near her childhood school in New Delhi, where she observed limited employment opportunities for visually challenged individuals. She noted that blind people possess a heightened sense of touch, making them exceptionally skilled at therapeutic massage work.
Saran and her mother, Neeraja, trained both completely blind and partially sighted therapists for the spa. Though the venture no longer operates, Saran expressed hope for its eventual revival.
