Sister carries differently-abled brother on shoulders to ward in Madhya Pradesh hospital
A video from Guna district in Madhya Pradesh shows a woman, Krishnabai, carrying her differently-abled brother Jagdish on her shoulders to a hospital ward. Jagdish has been unable to walk due to his disability and was brought for treatment. Krishnabai said she expected stretchers or staff assistance upon arrival but found none available for a considerable time.
The incident has raised concerns about patient assistance facilities at the hospital. However, the hospital administration denied any shortage of stretchers and said adequate equipment and staff are stationed at entry points and wards to help transport patients. Officials stated that ward boys and multi-utility staff are assigned for this purpose, and relatives sometimes carry patients themselves without seeking help.
