Sports Ministry allocates ₹2,000 crore grant to Gujarat for 2030 Commonwealth Games

The Union Sports Ministry has allocated a ₹2,000 crore grant to Gujarat for hosting the 2030 Commonwealth Games. The fund has been included in the revised norms of the Assistance to National Sports Federations (ANSF) scheme.

Ahmedabad secured the hosting rights for the centenary edition of the Commonwealth Games after winning the bid last year. The city defeated competition from Nigeria to earn the opportunity to stage the prestigious sporting event.

The grant will support infrastructure development and other preparations required for successfully organizing the Games in the state.
