Sujeet Kalkal, 23, secured gold in wrestling at the Asian Games 2026 after a thrilling comeback victory against Tajikistan's Abdulmazhid Kudiev. Trailing 2-9, Kalkal mounted a remarkable rally to win 10-9 in the final.

Kalkal attributed his success to coach Bentinidis and credited his strong ground wrestling technique for the turnaround. The wrestler said he focused on maximizing his grappling skills to overturn the deficit and claim the medal.
