Sulphur emerging as key crop nutrient with high potential, says SML MD

Sulphur is gaining importance as a crop nutrient in Indian agriculture, according to Bimal Shah, Managing Director of SML (Sulfates and Minerals Limited). While its current adoption remains below conventional NPK fertilizers, Shah highlighted the substantial untapped potential of sulphur in improving crop yields and soil health.
The executive noted that increased farmer awareness and agronomic research are driving growing interest in sulphur-based fertilizers across different regions and crop types.
