Sungro school grapples with severe teacher shortage

Sungro Government Higher Secondary School in Wokha district faces a critical shortage of teachers and instructors that hampers academic and co-curricular activities. During an interaction on September 22 between district officials, school staff and students, Principal R. Mhonlumi Yanthan highlighted the ongoing staffing crisis despite the school recently receiving 20 sets of furniture under Samagra Shiksha.

The principal urged authorities to facilitate recruitment of required staff to enable smooth functioning. Deputy Commissioner K. Mhathung Tsanglao and Senior SDEO Nchumbemo Jami encouraged teachers and students to maintain commitment and performance standards. The Deputy Commissioner assured that grievances raised would be escalated to concerned authorities for resolution.
