Tata Motors stock drops 5% after Q1 profit plunges 80% year-on-year
Tata Motors' passenger vehicle shares declined 5% following disappointing Q1 FY27 results. Net profit plummeted 80% year-on-year to ₹775 crore, while revenue grew 9% to ₹95,799 crore. EBITDA margin contracted to 7.4%.
The automaker attributed the sharp profit decline to supply chain disruptions, geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, and costs associated with winding down its Jaguar luxury brand. Despite revenue growth, operational efficiency weakened significantly during the quarter.
