Tea Board to expand auction centres for better price realisation

The Tea Board is expanding the number of auction centres across the country to support tea producers in achieving improved price realisation. The move is part of broader auction reform efforts aimed at strengthening the industry's market structure.
The board expects these reform initiatives to create a more efficient auction system, enabling producers to realise better returns on their crop. By increasing the geographic spread of auction centres, the board aims to reduce market concentration and improve competitive bidding dynamics.
The initiative reflects the Tea Board's commitment to supporting domestic tea producers and strengthening the overall competitiveness of India's tea sector in the domestic and export markets.
