Telangana ACB uncovers irregularities at Bandlaguda RTO during surprise check

The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau conducted a surprise inspection at Bandlaguda Regional Transport Office on Monday and Tuesday, uncovering multiple irregularities. Unauthorised agents were found inside the office carrying applications, and officials discovered that some RTO staff were allegedly using symbols and names on applications to expedite processing through agents.
The ACB recovered ₹24,760 in cash from agents present at the office and found 33 missing transport-related applications from the custody of two employees — senior assistant K Sai Kumar and junior assistant T Saikanth. Suspicious UPI transactions were also detected on staff mobile phones. The investigation revealed that some employees, including MA Lateef Khan who worked at the office for nearly 20 years, had served at the South Zone office for unusually prolonged periods.
