Telangana DGP condemns assault on woman at Hyderabad railway station

A viral video showing a home guard assaulting a woman at Hafizpet railway station in Hyderabad has drawn swift condemnation from Telangana Police. DGP CV Anand said such behaviour by police personnel, regardless of rank or provocation, is inexcusable and violates all instructions and training.

Anand stated that the home guard is on deputation to Railway Police Force and not with local police. He ordered immediate dismissal from service, case registration, and criminal proceedings against the officer. The DGP directed the Cyberabad Police Commissioner to take swift action.

South Central Railway separately confirmed the incident and identified the accused as a Telangana state police home guard deployed at Hafizpet station for duty.
