Telangana Police return ₹139.68 crore to nearly 24,200 cyber fraud victims in 2024

Telangana Police have processed refunds totalling ₹139.68 crore for 24,189 victims of cyber fraud during 2024. The initiative reflects coordinated efforts between state law enforcement and financial institutions to recover funds from fraudsters.

The refund programme aims to restore losses suffered by citizens who fell prey to online scams, including phishing, fake investment schemes, and digital banking fraud. Police have been working with banks and payment gateways to trace and retrieve misappropriated amounts.
