Thane Water Supply Cut Scheduled for September 26-27 for Temghar Plant Upgrade

The Thane Municipal Corporation has announced a 24-hour temporary water supply shutdown beginning Saturday, September 26, 2026, at 9 am through Sunday, September 27, 2026, at 9 am. The interruption is necessary to install higher-capacity pumping machinery at the Temghar Water Treatment Plant as part of the Central Government's AMRUT 2.0 infrastructure scheme.
The shutdown will affect multiple areas across the city, including central and southern precincts such as Indira Nagar, Sathe Nagar, and Ambewadi; western belt and foothills regions including Bhatwadi and Yeoor; the Ghodbunder Road corridor; and suburban areas including Mumbra. Following maintenance completion, water supply is expected to be restored gradually, with low pressure likely for one to two days.
The TMC Water Supply Department has advised residents to store adequate water before the shutdown and urged cooperation during the infrastructure upgrade work.
