You Must Be Thick-Skinned to Survive This Industry: Smita Bansal on Sanchita Ugale's Death

Television actress Smita Bansal has opened up about the emotional toll of working in the entertainment industry, responding to the death of 22-year-old actress Sanchita Ugale, who allegedly died by suicide on June 14 at her home in Nalasopara.
In an exclusive interview, Bansal emphasized that survival in the industry requires more than resilience alone. "You have to be very thick-skinned to survive this industry," she said, adding that mental well-being is equally crucial. She stressed that life extends beyond professional setbacks and urged young actors to prioritize their mental health.
Bansal reflected on how actors often magnify professional challenges, noting that such struggles seem insignificant in retrospect. She called for a shift in perspective, urging struggling performers to seek help rather than suffer silently and advocating that survival should be the priority.
