Ujjain Temple Demolition Sparks Row Over Simhastha Land Encroachments

Hindu organisations in Ujjain have raised concerns over alleged encroachments in the Simhastha area following efforts to remove Dada Khade Hanuman Temple on Bade Ganesh Temple road. Sakal Hindu Samaj has demanded that Avantika Tirtha be freed from illegal occupation, claiming eight colonies in Number 5 Naka and portions of Juna Somwariya were illegally developed on Simhastha land.
Hindu groups say over 450 notices were issued to colonies but no action was taken. They contend the Hindu community peacefully handed over around 60 temples for road widening, while 11 mosques and mazars within Simhastha have not faced similar action. Meanwhile, residents of Mansarovar Colony objected to demolition of temple walls, urging the administration to carry out road work while preserving temple premises.
