UK recognises India's carbon trading scheme under CBAM regime

The United Kingdom has formally recognised India's Carbon Credit Trading Scheme (CCTS), a significant development for bilateral trade. This recognition permits Indian exporters to claim carbon price relief under Britain's Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) regime, reducing the burden of double taxation on exported goods.
The Commerce Ministry is concurrently working to address rising freight costs affecting exporters. Officials are also coordinating efforts to ensure adequate ship and container availability for cargo movement, aimed at supporting India's export competitiveness in the UK market.
