Uttar Pradesh expands tourism focus beyond Mughal monuments and ghats

Uttar Pradesh is broadening its tourism strategy to include lesser-known historical and cultural destinations beyond the traditionally popular Mughal monuments and ghats. The state government aims to leverage its diverse heritage to attract visitors to underexplored regions.
This diversification effort seeks to distribute tourism revenue more evenly across the state while promoting regional historical sites that have remained relatively neglected. The initiative reflects an attempt to move beyond concentrated tourism in major cities like Agra and Varanasi.
