Usha Uthup: 'Strongly attached to idea of India even though much has changed'

Singer Usha Uthup recalls how music unexpectedly shaped her life, though her early attempts faced setbacks. She was removed from her school choir because her teacher could not place her voice in the conventional structure. Despite this early rejection, Uthup went on to become one of India's most celebrated vocalists.
