V2 Retail shares crash 20% despite Q2 revenue growth
V2 Retail's shares fell sharply by 20% following the release of its Q2 FY27 business update. Despite the stock decline, the company reported a 28.4% year-on-year increase in revenue to Rs 905 crore, supported by ongoing store expansion efforts.
Same-store sales growth was modest at 0.5% on a festival-normalised basis but declined 14.9% on a calendar basis. The company attributed the weakness to the shift in timing of Navratri and Durga Puja celebrations compared to the prior year.
Management remains optimistic, expecting stronger demand to emerge in Q3, which typically sees higher consumer spending during the festive season.
