Varaha March Halted in Madhya Pradesh's Dhar, Over 50 Activists Detained

The Dhar administration blocked a proposed Varaha March on Tuesday amid significant police deployment. More than 50 activists from Hindu organisations were detained, according to ASP Vijay Dabar, who stated they would be released shortly. Around 800 police personnel were positioned across the city, with additional staff from nearby stations.
Several Hindu leaders were arrested early in the morning, including Ashish Basu, Anshul Sharma, Sonu Gaikwad and Radheshyam Yadav. The administration also cancelled a Muslim community vehicle rally planned for the same day after invoking Section 163 in the city.
Tensions had persisted for days between the administration and Sanatan Prahari over the march permission. The disputed site, known as Vijay Mandir to Hindus and Lat Masjid to Muslims, was secured by the Archaeological Survey of India. The historic location hosts Hindu gatherings during Dussehra and Muslim prayers during Eid.
