Pinarayi urges Kharge to restrain Kerala govt over police action on student protesters

CPI(M) leader Pinarayi Vijayan has written to Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, urging him to restrain the Congress-led Kerala government from "pandering to the Sangh Parivar." Vijayan's letter comes after police action against Students Federation of India (SFI) activists protesting against the full rendition of Vande Mataram in front of a university building.
Vijayan contended that students were engaged in peaceful protest when police resorted to a violent lathicharge without any provocation. He criticized the state government's handling of the incident, framing it as an ideological departure favoring right-wing positions.
