Actor Should Be Seen As Actor, Not By Platform: Vishal Jethwa Backs Rupali Ganguly's View on TV Actors
Actor Vishal Jethwa, known for films including Mardaani 2 and Homebound, has supported fellow television actress Rupali Ganguly's remarks about TV actors being looked down upon in the past. Speaking exclusively at FICCI FRAMES 2026, Jethwa said actors are often categorised based on their platform of work, which troubles him.
Jethwa emphasised that an actor should be judged by their craft, not by whether they work in television, film, theatre, or advertising. He stated, "Actor ko actor ki tarah dekhna chahiye" (an actor should be seen as an actor), without any categorisation based on their medium. He advocated for equal opportunities for all performers, irrespective of their work platform or position.
On the work front, Jethwa is set to appear in Shakti Shalini alongside Aneet Padda, releasing in 2026. His recent film Homebound was shortlisted among 15 films for consideration at the 2026 Oscars.
