Asiad gold medalists triumph despite meager government support

India secured 21 gold medals at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, demonstrating the exceptional talent of athletes who achieved success despite limited resources. Archers Kumkum Mohod and Sahil Jadhav received only Rs 50,000 each through the Target Olympic Podium Scheme (TOPS), yet still won medals.
Their achievements, along with victories by boxers and sailors, illustrate the determination of Indian athletes to excel under financial constraints. The performance underscores the potential these athletes possess to compete at the highest levels even with minimal government support.
