Yogi Announces 50% Bus Fare Concession for NEET Candidates, Strict Moharram Guidelines

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced a 50 percent concession in bus fares for candidates appearing in the NEET examination on June 21. Students can avail the discount by presenting their admit cards at Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation buses. Approximately 3.5 lakh candidates are expected to appear for the exam across 59 districts.

During a video conference review on law and order, Adityanath issued strict directives for Moharram celebrations, emphasizing it as an occasion of mourning rather than power display. He prohibited weapon displays, introduction of new traditions, and excessive use of loudspeakers and musical instruments. He directed district officials to ensure no incidents affecting public peace occur and mandated that Tazias should not exceed prescribed height standards.
