Yogi Government Delivers 1,900 Food Packets to Flood-Hit Lucknow Residents by Boat

Relief and rescue operations continue across waterlogged areas of Lucknow following a rise in the Gomti river's water level. The Yogi government has directed teams from the Lucknow Municipal Corporation to deliver food, ration, and safe drinking water to affected families while maintaining sanitation and public health measures.
Given difficulties in accessing waterlogged zones, relief materials are being transported by boat. With support from private organisations, Municipal Corporation teams have distributed approximately 1,900 food packets and drinking water bottles across affected areas in Zones 3 and 6, including Hayat Nagar, Barawan Kala, Tand Khera, Sukhlal Khera, Munnu Khera, Daulat Khera, Laxmi Hospital Wali Gali and Gulmi Khera.
Municipal Commissioner Gaurav Kumar visited affected localities including Faizullaganj and Gulmi Khera on Friday to inspect operations and direct officials to ensure necessary arrangements. Zonal officers and engineers in both zones are overseeing relief efforts. Around 70 personnel have been deployed at Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti Language University to manage incoming food supplies and coordinate transportation to affected areas.
