CM Yogi's ₹2,500 Crore Ambitious Scheme for the Development of Purvanchal

The Uttar Pradesh government, in collaboration with the World Bank, has prepared the ₹2,500 crore UP-EDGE project for the development of Purvanchal. This five-year plan aims to convert local resources into investment, employment, and exports across the 28 districts of Purvanchal and, potentially, 7 Bundelkhand districts.
The Purvanchal region, which has 40% of the state's population, contributes only 27.6% to the state's total GDP. To address this economic imbalance, a district-level action plan will be prepared. By promoting agriculture, manufacturing, the service sector, and 'One District One Product' (ODOP), new local employment opportunities will be created for youth.
