CM Yogi Inaugurates 229 Projects Worth ₹1,051 Crore in Mathura on Janmashtami

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated and laid foundation stones for 229 development projects worth ₹1,051 crore in Mathura on September 3, marking Shri Krishna Janmashtami. The projects included the Swami Shri Haridas Auditorium at the Gita Research Institute and Rasleela Academy in Vrindavan. Of these, 62 projects worth over ₹540 crore were inaugurated, while 167 projects costing over ₹437 crore had their foundation stones laid. Additionally, over ₹72 crore was transferred to beneficiaries under a housing scheme.
Addressing the gathering, Adityanath referenced historical sites like Braj, Ayodhya and Kashi, stating that while foreign invaders demolished temples, they could not diminish devotion. He highlighted Swami Haridas Ji Maharaj's role in transforming music into spiritual practice, noting that musician Tansen was his disciple.
The CM criticised past approaches to development that neglected heritage, saying previous governments had disrespected cultural symbols. He emphasised the need to balance infrastructure development with preservation of historical and spiritual heritage.
