Nashik Teacher Kunda Bachhav Honoured With National Teachers' Award 2026

Kunda Jaywant Bachhav, a teacher at Nashik Municipal School No. 18 in Anandwali, received the National Teachers' Award 2026 on Teachers' Day. President Droupadi Murmu felicitated selected teachers at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi on September 5. Bachhav was among four awardees from Maharashtra and 48 school teachers chosen nationally.
For two decades, Bachhav has focused on quality education and equal opportunities. She launched an Educational Sponsorship initiative supporting over 150 girls from economically weaker families, preventing school dropouts and child marriages. She also created 'Knowledge Walls'—30 painted walls in Anandwali featuring maps, formulae, vocabulary and educational content—enabling outdoor learning.
Other initiatives include Anandwali Shikshan Katta, Smart Attendance, and Constitution Snakes and Ladders, promoting constitutional understanding, moral values, social awareness and technological skills among students.
