9 Bangladeshi Citizens Stranded at India-Bangladesh Border, Dhaka Refuses to Accept Them

Tensions have escalated at the India-Bangladesh international border after nine Bangladeshi citizens became stranded in the no-man's land at Mankachar sector in Assam. The Bangladesh Border Guard (BBG) has consistently refused to take them back, prompting a high-level meeting between Indian Border Security Force (BSF) and BBG officials. Despite extensive discussions, BBG has remained firm in its stance.
The situation intensified on Sunday when the nine individuals were spotted in the barbed wire section of no-man's land under suspicious circumstances. In a video message, one of the stranded youths stated they came to India seeking employment and possess legal documents proving Bangladeshi citizenship, declaring they will not return to India under any circumstances. Additional videos show the trapped individuals in distress, uncertain about their fate.
Meanwhile, the BSF has been reinforcing border security and patrols. In the past week alone, Assam police and BSF jointly prevented 21 individuals from illegally crossing into India.
