Agriculture ministry gears up for rabi season amid monsoon deficit concerns
The agriculture ministry is intensifying preparations for the upcoming rabi season in coordination with states, responding to concerns over inadequate soil moisture and reservoir status for winter crops. A national Rabi Conference will be convened to deliberate on crop strategies tailored for affected regions.
States are currently assessing district-level conditions and identifying farmers who may require alternative crop interventions. The ministry aims to mitigate potential risks to food inflation stemming from suboptimal planting conditions triggered by the monsoon deficit and El Niño-related concerns.
