Army Institute of Law Mohali announces 16th Checkmate National Moot Court Competition 2026

The Army Institute of Law (AIL), Mohali will conduct the 16th edition of its Checkmate National Moot Court Competition from 15th to 17th October 2026. The offline event aims to provide law students across India a platform for legal research, memorial drafting and oral advocacy.

Eligible participants are bona fide students pursuing a 3-year LL.B. or 5-year integrated law course. Teams can have either two speakers or two speakers and one researcher. Provisional registration closes on 10 September 2026, with a maximum of 32 teams accepted on first-come, first-served basis.

The registration fee is Rs 2,000 per team (non-refundable), with payment deadline of 14 September 2026. Interested teams should email ail.checkmate2026@gmail.com. AIL, established in 1999 and inaugurated by Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, has conducted 15 previous editions of the competition.
