Delay in induction of new fighter jets hurting IAF, says Air Chief

The Air Chief has expressed concern over delays in inducting new fighter jets into the Indian Air Force, citing operational implications. Under the Multi-Role Fighter Aircraft (MRFA) procurement model being considered, Rafale jets will be manufactured in India by French plane maker Dassault Aviation in partnership with a local industry partner. The delayed timeline for acquisition and induction is affecting IAF's readiness and capability enhancement plans.
